Transistor-transistor logic (TTL) is a digital logic design in which bipolar transistor s act on direct-current pulses. Many TTL logic gate s are typically fabricated onto a single integrated circuit (IC).

Why TTL is used in electronics?

Transistor–transistor logic (TTL) is a logic family built from bipolar junction transistors. Its name signifies that transistors perform both the logic function (the first "transistor") and the amplifying function (the second "transistor"), as opposed to resistor–transistor logic (RTL) or diode–transistor logic (DTL).

Is TTL a high impedance?

The TTL signaling works by pulling a small current from inputs to ground to get Low, hence the asymmetric driving capability (much weaker High than Low). TTL "totem-pole" output stages usually drive "high" state thru a 130 ohm-ish resistor, thats pretty high compared to 50 ohm line impedance you are driving.

Is CMOS a TTL?

CMOS stands for Complimentary Metal-oxide Semicodictor while in TTL stand for Transistor-Transistor Logic. CMOS circuit uses a field-effect transistor by connecting NMOS and PMOS, the TTL circuit uses bipolar junction transistor. The design of the CMOS can be considered to be very simpler as compared to the TTL.

What unit is TTL?

The units used are seconds. An older common TTL value for DNS was 86400 seconds, which is 24 hours. A TTL value of 86400 would mean that, if a DNS record was changed on the authoritative nameserver, DNS servers around the world could still be showing the old value from their cache for up to 24 hours after the change.

What does TTL 1 hour mean?

With a TTL of 3600 seconds, or 1 hour, that means that as a recursive server learns about example.com, it will store that information about the A-record at example.com for one hour.
